Facebook Messenger Codes
As business owners, we understand that our clients like to communicate with us using a multitude of methods. Many customers prefer to correspond using email. Others like to talk to us directly on the phone. Still others prefer texting, using Facebook messenger, or communicating on Social Media.
At the Pridham Group, we are firm believers that we need to communicate in our clients’ choice of methods.
That’s why we were very excited to learn about Facebook’s newest rollout of Messenger Codes for iOS and Android.
They actually started rolling out these codes in April, and we were a little unsure whether they would catch on or not. After watching for a few months, we are starting to see these codes being used on websites, brochures, trade show banners, posters, etc.
Messenger Codes are very similar to Snapchat’s snapcodes – basically images that you can scan with the camera on your phone, allowing you to easily add new contacts.
To give you an idea of what they look like, here is The Pridham Group’s messenger code:
To use this feature in Messenger, you will first need to allow Facebook Messenger to access your camera in your phone’s Settings.
Once your camera is enabled for Messenger, you can easily scan any Messenger Code and add the user to your contacts.
Here’s how to do it.
With Messenger opened, go to your profile.
Tap on your own Messenger Code.
Tap on Scan Code.
Hold the camera on your phone up to a Messenger code.
The app will then automatically scan the code for you.
Here’s what you’ll see when you scan our Messenger Code:
Once you have scanned the Messenger Code, you can then send a message to the user, view their Facebook Page, manage messages, and share their details with your contacts.
